This Nurse Practitioner found me through my other actual RCM Medical Billing website, and messaged me directly, hoping I would take on her practice account for free.
We are a growing solo primary care practice in the Southwest, looking to establish a relationship with a billing partner. We launched in July 2024, began insurance processing in November 2024, and now have a high volume of outstanding accounts that need to be cleaned up and operational efficiency achieved. This role starts as a volunteer or unpaid contract for up to 6 months. Experience with eClinicalWorks (eCW) is strongly preferred since all of our claims, payments, and denials are handled through that system. You will help submit claims, follow up on unpaid balances, reconcile accounts, and generally get our revenue cycle in shape so we can focus on patient care instead of paperwork.
This opportunity tests your ability to see what you still need to learn about real revenue cycle management. After up to 6 months of volunteering, we will decide if you have proven yourself to land a billing contract with our organization. This is a great opportunity for an outside billing company to gain hands-on experience with our clinic’s RCM process. We look forward to working with passionate individuals who want to contribute to our growing primary care practice, which we plan to expand into two more states by 2026.

And if you wonder how Sasha knows that, it is because I always do my homework on any medical practice that tries to crawl into my inbox for free labor. In a masterclass of what-not-to-do, by November 2024, she was already filing insurance claims without finishing credentialing or getting on any insurance panels. Like clockwork, every claim hit a brick wall and got denied because, newsflash, if you are not in network, you do not get paid. Fast forward to May 2025, and she wants a “remote medical billing company” to fix this mountain of unpaid claims that are rotting compost now for free. All while she sits at some cafe sipping a latte, pretending that she is an actual visionary entrepreneur.
Sasha’s Rant:
She calls it a “volunteer contract” to test if you are worthy of a billing contract later. Sasha calls it what it is: free labor for a nutjob who skipped RCM 101, dumped a year’s worth of claims into the payer abyss, got nothing but denials back, and now wants an experienced billing company to crawl through her unpaid mess for zero dollars and zero respect until her AR nightmare magically disappears. Once you, unpaid hero, fix her entire practice cash flow, she might toss you a contract if she remembers. You cannot make this garbage up.
Those denied claims are dead. Bury them. Move on. Sasha does not work for free. Neither should you.
